The city of Kelaniya has a special significance in Sri Lanka as a social, economic and cultural heritage. When it comes to discussing the beginning of human civilization within Sri Lanka, Kelaniya Pura becomes of vital importance. The KelaniyaRajamahaViharaya and the SukomalaKelani River, having blessed with the footprint of lord Buddha, are being further strengthened. The functions carried out by the Pradeshiya Saba greatly assists the development of the common infrastructure facilities and socio-economic progress of the people residing in the area coming under the purview of Kelaniya region is being greatly assisted by a such a social value system thus built. My main objective is to create an environment conducive for upgrading the living-standard of the people residing under the purview of Pradeshiya Saba region. It is my intention to make a shining KelaniyaPradeshiya Sabha in the Western Province with a focus on physical planning, health utilities and public utilities in terms of leading the staff towards the vision and mission.
